AGIA Joins GPPB-TSO-Organized Procurement Training Workshop for Private Sector Organizations

The Government Procurement Policy Board-Technical Service Office (GPPB-TSO) conducted a procurement training workshop on April 27, 2023 at the Privato Hotel, Shaw Blvd., Pasig City for private sector organizations.

The workshop aimed to strengthen the partnerships and collaborations between the GPPB-TSO and private training institutions to ensure that they continue to uphold and champion accountability and transparency in the government procurement process.

In her opening statement, Atty. Rowena Candice M. Ruiz, Executive Director of the GPPB-TSO, stressed the need to professionalize their partner organizations, enhance the procurement modules for a better appreciation of the rules, and provide assistance and bridge the gap in gradually guiding and helping procuring entities. The GPPB-TSO presented specific plans towards professionalizing public bidding procurement practice like ladderized and customized trainings, and amendments to the procurement law, to include the creation of plantilla procurement positions in government agencies.

A draft Memorandum of Understanding between the GPPB-TSO and partner organizations to seal parties’ commitments was also presented for comments. The MOU shall be signed during a formal signing event with DBM Sec. Amina Pangandaman and private organizations representatives. The training workshop was culminated by a signing in the Wall of Commitments by all attendees.

 

AGIA was represented in the event by President Marissa N. Fabricante, Training and Development Chair, Dir. Hideliz Marie Laranang, Dir. Dinah E. Pichay, Manager Maureen Haduca, and Asst Manager, Trisha Abad. Joining AGIA in this activity are the Association of Government Accountants of the Philippines (AGAP), Government Association of CPAs (GACPA), Philippine Association of Records Officers and Archivists (PAROA), Philippine Association for Government Budget Administration, Inc. (PAGBA), including its regional/provincial chapters, and other organizations offering procurement trainings.
