ELECTION OF AGIA BOARD OF DIRECTOR FOR TERM 2022 TO 2025

AUGUST 18, 2021

VACANCIES IN THE BOARD:

There are eight (8) vacant seats in the Board of Directors comprised of five (5) Regular Members and three (3) Associate Members. Elected officers shall serve for a term of 4 years from January 2022 to December 2025.

WHO CAN VOTE?

Only members either regular or associate who are in good standing as of September 10, 2021. “A member in good standing is one who has paid his membership fee and annual dues for the current year;”

QUALIFICATION OF NOMINEES AND CANDIDATES:

All regular and associate members as defined in the by-laws;

Regular Member – are those appointed or designated and performing as Internal Auditors

Associate Member – are those who are neither appointed nor designated as internal auditors but are performing internal control functions

Must be in good standing as of date of submission of application/nomination.

Has no pending criminal or administrative case and/or who has not committed any act in violation of AGIA By-Laws and Code of Ethics;

Must be at least SG 18 or equivalent supervisory level;

Must attend the 2021 Annual Convention; and

Must be willing to attend meetings of the Board of Directors and other AGIA activities.

NOTE:

Only one (1) director shall represent a particular government agency as provided for under the By-laws thus, only one (1) nominee/candidate shall be allowed per agency and there shall be no nominee/candidate from the following agencies which are currently represented:

DSWD, DAR, AFP, NSC, DTI, DILG, NIA and PHILGUARANTEE.

2021 Annual National Convention cum Seminar

The Association of Government Internal Auditors, Inc. (AGIA) would like to invite you, and your staff to its upcoming VIRTUAL Annual National Convention cum Seminar on October 7 – 8, 2021, from 8am to 5pm with the theme: “Navigating Through Risks and Challenges under the New Normal”.


Distinguished speakers were invited to discuss topics of great interest to public servants that will provide new insights and learning to the participants and inspire them to face the challenges inherent to their respective work. Technical sessions, plenary discussions with open-forum, and knowledge-sharing on current trends in good governance will highlight the two-day affair.


The Convention is a suitable venue for your employees performing internal auditing, accounting, property management, budgeting, treasury, risk management, and allied functions to network with colleagues and benchmark with best practices in the government. The registration fee is Four Thousand Pesos (P4,000.00) only.

Guidelines of the Search for Best Practices and Innovations in Public Sector Internal Auditing

I. BASIC POLICY​

The AGIA aims to promote competence, integrity, professionalism and commitment in internal auditing and provide awards and incentives to recognize the exceptional performance, innovative ideas, ethical behavior, superior accomplishments and other personal efforts that contribute to transparency, accountability, good governance and responsiveness in public service.

II. OBJECTIVE

To give due recognition and reward to government internal auditing units for best practices and innovations in internal auditing that promote improvement in operations.

III. SCOPE

The Search is open to all internal auditing units in the following sectors:​

National Government Agencies (NGAs)

Government Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) / Government Financial Institutions (GFIs)

Local Government Units (LGUs)

State Universities and Colleges (SUCs)

There shall be one (1) winner per sector.

IV. CRITERIA FOR QUALIFICATION

The participating NGA/GOCC/LGU/SUC must have an organized and fully operational IAS/IAU, i.e. with approved plantilla positions, that conforms to relevant DBM guidelines and other pertinent rules and regulations.

The Head/Chief Audit Executive (CAE) and at least three (3) members of the IAS/IAU of the participating Agency must be active and in good standing AGIA members as of the date of submission of application.

The submitted innovation / best practice must not have been submitted as an entry to previous AGIA contests of the same nature.

V. CONTEST RULES

An Agency may submit not more than two (2) major innovations / best practices in internal auditing that have significantly improved internal audit performance and contributed to overall Agency operations. The innovation / best practice must have been implemented for at least six (6) months as of Dec. 31, 2020;

Entries must be accompanied by an Application Form (AGIA Search Form 1- Annex 1), together with all pertinent documents. Multiple entries must have individual application form and submitted to the official AGIA email in pdf or thru google drive on or before July 31, 2021, 11:59 pm.

A Search Committee duly constituted for the purpose shall evaluate the submitted documents based on the approved Criteria for Evaluation.

Qualified applicants shall be evaluated based on the following:

A sector winner may only be declared if it attains an evaluation ratingof at least eighty-five percent (85%).

An on-site evaluation and validation may be conducted by the Committee, as it deems necessary, to qualified participants.

Winners will be announced and awarded during the AGIA Annual Convention, CY 2021.

Winners per sector will receive a cash prize of TWENTY THOUSAND PESOS  (PhP20,000.00) and a Plaque/Certificate of Recognition. All other participating Agencies will be given Plaque/Certificate of Appreciation.

 VI. NON-ELIGIBILITY

Agencies of incumbent AGIA Board of Directors are not eligible to participate in this Search.

Government Internal Auditors Summit CY2021

The Association of Government Internal Auditors (AGIA), Inc. will be holding its 1st Government Internal Auditors Summit on July 1-2, 2021 from 8:30am to 5:00pm. The Summit with the theme: “Innovative Auditing: Working and Thinking Differently” is virtual and aims to offer an avenue where Internal Auditors exchange information on emerging issues and latest trends in internal auditing in these challenging times.
